T-Mobile has the best 5G coverage in America, while AT&T offers the best 4G coverage.  All of the carriers are actively growing their 5G networks, however. The reality is that the best network for you is the one with the best overall coverage where you live, work, and play, and that often includes a combination of 4G and 5G availability.

T-Mobile’s 5G coverage is superior to Verizon’s in terms of overall reach. Verizon, however, has a far more wide-reaching 4G network than T-Mobile, with 58% of the country covered to T-Mobile’s 37%.

AT&T offers slightly better 4G LTE coverage than Verizon, at 58% U.S. coverage to Verizon’s 56%. However, Verizon’s 5G coverage is often faster than AT&T’s, thanks to the company’s rollout of millimeter wave 5G technology.
