iPhone Text Effects: Tips and Tricks

It used to be that Verizon maintained a sprawling menu of unlimited data plans, but in more recent years the carrier has slimmed its offerings down to three: the entry-level $65/month Unlimited Welcome, the mid-tier $80/month Unlimited Plus, and the premium $90/month Unlimited Ultimate. The latter two of these include unlimited premium data and generous mobile hotspot allowances, while Unlimited Welcome is decidedly more basic.
In this article, we’ll outline our favorite all-around Verizon unlimited plan (Unlimited Plus), our favorite Verizon unlimited family plan (Unlimited Ultimate), and our favorite budget Verizon unlimited plan (Unlimited Welcome). We’ll also explain how Verizon’s myPlan add-on system works, in addition to telling you what to expect in terms of Verizon coverage.

Verizon’s myPlan add-ons system allows you to pick and choose any perks you want to add to your plan, each of which costs $10/month (with the exception of Apple One, which costs $15/month). These perks include everything from a Disney streaming bundle to an Apple One subscription to 100GB of mobile hotspot data.
Here’s a full list of what’s available at the time of this article:
The myPlan system is a good way to avoid paying for stuff you don’t want, as it allows you to get specific with your add-ons. And it can save you money too—for example, a Disney Bundle Duo Premium subscription costs $19.99/month through Disney itself, whereas Verizon offers it for just $10-15/month.
Verizon offers some of the best coverage in the U.S., with a 4G LTE network that spreads to almost every part of the country, and a fast-growing 5G network. Broadly speaking, Verizon’s 4G coverage network ranks second in area covered behind AT&T, while its 5G network is two spots behind T-Mobile and AT&T. However, where Verizon does have 5G coverage, you can expect super-fast speeds. Verizon has focused the build-out of its 5G network on its so-called 5G Ultra Wideband, which makes use of millimeter wave technology to deliver quick data speeds and low latency.
Verizon plans share certain characteristics, including the following:
The cheapest Verizon unlimited plan is Unlimited Welcome at $65/month for one line. The plan includes unlimited deprioritized data and unlimited talk, text, and data in Mexico and Canada.
The difference between Verizon’s Unlimited Ultimate plan and its Unlimited Plus plan comes down to hotspot data and international perks. Unlimited Ultimate includes 200GB of mobile hotspot data per month to Unlimited Plus’ 30GB. Unlimited Ultimate includes unlimited talk, text, and 10GB/month of high-speed data in 210+ countries, whereas Unlimited Plus’ international perks are limited to Mexico and Canada.
Yes, you can switch between Verizon unlimited plans whenever you want, and no additional cost. To do it yourself, simply go onto the My Verizon and navigate to the Manage Plans section.
If you’re looking for a relatively cheap way to jump aboard the Verizon network, we recommend going with the Unlimited Welcome plan.
At $55/month for two lines, this unlimited plan is more of a stripped back offering than the carrier's other two plans, Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Ultimate. For example, Unlimited Welcome doesn’t include a mobile hotspot allowance, all of the data is of the deprioritized variety (meaning you may experience slower speeds during times of network congestion), and the plan lacks international perks.
That said, you can add on these elements via the a la carte myPlan system. If, for example, you want hotspot functionality to power your laptop’s internet connection when you’re away from WiFi, you can add 100GB of hotspot data to your plan for a reasonable $10-15/month.
Side note: Unlimited Welcome is Verizon's most popular plan, with 38% of new subscribers signing up for it over the ones.
Looking for an unlimited plan for the whole family? Verizon is one of the few carriers that allows you to mix and match plans when you sign up for multiple lines, so each person can pick their own plan. However, if you want to keep things simple by choosing one plan for all, we think the best option for today’s data-consuming families is Unlimited Ultimate.
Not only does Unlimited Ultimate include unlimited premium data—great for a family of mobile streamers—but a huge 200GB hotspot data allowance. It’s hard to imagine anyone in your group being disappointed with the plan—after all, it’s the premium offering from the nation’s largest carrier. Unlimited Ultimate is Verizon's third-most popular plan, with 24% of subscribers opting for it over the carrier's other options.
Unlimited Ultimate costs $90/month for one line, but thanks to multi-line discounts, it drops in price as you add lines. Signing up for 2 lines takes the price per line down to $80/month, three lines takes it down to $65/month, and four lines brings it to $55/month.
With Verizon, you can count on decent customer support, a large selection of devices, excellent coverage, and the ability to add all sorts of features (streaming subscriptions, international data, etc.) onto your plan.
One of the most attractive Verizon plans is the carrier’s Unlimited Plus. At $80/month, it includes access to Verizon’s fast 5G Ultra Wideband coverage, unlimited premium data, a 30GB mobile hotspot data allowance, unlimited talk, text, and data in Mexico and Canada, and unlimited texting to over 200 countries. All of this helps to explain why it's the second-most popular Verizon plan, with 38.4% of new subscribers opting for it over the carrier's other options.
If you want to supercharge your plan with additional perks, you can choose from a wide selection of them via Verizon myPlan. At $10/month (with the exception of Apple One, which costs $15/month), they’re cheaper than they would be if you bought them separately.
