While you can’t set up a data transfer directly between your Gmail account and your iCloud services, you can functionally sync contacts from your old Android to your new phone or iOS device (including Macs or iPads).

It only takes a few extra steps to import contacts and email accounts, transfer photos, and sync other app data from a Samsung Galaxy to an iPhone 15.

1. Use “Move to iOS”

First, you can download the Move to iOS application. This is a straightforward way to transfer your contacts from an Android device to an iPhone device in no time.

Move to iOS is a free app, so it’s already more accessible than other methods. However, remember that you can only use this app when transferring Android content to a brand-new iPhone. If you’ve already set up your iPhone, you’ll have to use one of the other methods described below.

Still, Move to iOS is a handy app because you can use it to move other content, like camera photos, messages, and other essential data, from one device to the other. So it’s a great tool to move everything necessary on your Android to your Apple iPhone in a matter of minutes.

To use Move to iOS:

  • Download Move to iOS on the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
  • Turn on your new iPhone and begin the setup process. When prompted, connect to your local Wi-Fi network.
  • Tap Move Data from Android when you reach the Apps and Data step.
  • Record the security code displayed on the iPhone, then open the Move to iOS app on your Android device and enter the security code.
  • Then use the data you want to transfer to your iPhone.

2. Link Your Google Account

You can alternatively link your Google account and use that to move Android contacts to an iPhone device. This also makes it easy to access your contacts on any device, provided you are signed into your Google account.

To do this:

  • Sync all of your Android contacts with Google. Settings, Accounts, Google, and Sync to do this.
  • Then open up your iPhone and Settings.
  • Tap Passwords and Accounts.
  • Tap Add Account. Here, you’ll be able to add your Google account.
  • As soon as your Google account is set up, your contacts will automatically appear from the Google Cloud.

3. Contact Transfer App

The third-party Contact Transfer app is another easy way to transfer contacts from Androids to iPhones. This app can be used when setting up a brand-new iPhone or if you want to copy contacts to an existing iPhone.

Keep in mind that Contact Transfer is a Windows app that doesn’t use any cloud storage. Fortunately, this means you can use the app to manage your contacts on any device so long as that device is linked to your PC. To use Contact Transfer and transfer your contacts from Android to iPhone:

  • Download and install Contact Transfer using any Windows PC.
  • Then connect your Android device to your PC by installing the free Contact Transfer Android app on the Google Play Store.
  • Open Contact Transfer on your PC and select your Android as the Source. Select the connected iPhone as the Destination device.
  • Then connect your devices. To do this, open Contact Transfer on your Android by tapping Scan Contact Transfer QR Code and use your Android camera to scan the QR code on your computer.
  • Connect your iPhone using the USB cable and plug it into your PC.
  • Choose which contacts you want to transfer or use the All checkbox to move all contacts over quickly.
  • Then click Transfer — you’ve done it.

4. Use a SIM Card

Using a SIM card, you can also transfer contacts from an Android device to an iPhone device. This isn’t very convenient, however, as it requires you to swap SIM cards physically between your two phones, which only works if you have saved all your contacts to your SIM card already. Still, if you want to try this method, follow the instructions below:

  • Open the Contacts App on your Android phone.
  • Then tap the three horizontal lines.
  • Then tap Manage Contacts.
  • Then tap Import/export Contacts.
  • Then tap Export.
  • Then choose where your contacts will be exported to. In this case, it’s a SIM card.
  • Pick the contacts you want to export, then tap Done when you finish.
  • Tap Export once more, and remove your SIM card from your Android phone.
  • Put the SIM card in your iPhone device.
  • Then open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap Contacts, Import SIM Contacts, and take the account where you want to store your contacts.

5. Transfer With Droid Transfer on PC

Droid Transfer could be the best solution if you want to use PC software to transfer your Android files from one phone to another. Droid Transfer is a Windows PC program with plenty of features to help you manage and move your Android files.

To use Droid Transfer:

  • Download Droid Transfer onto your chosen Windows PC.
  • Connect your device using a USB cable or Wi-Fi.
  • Then click Contacts, Copy Contacts, and Copy to Contacts in sequence. This will export all of your phone contacts to the Windows Contacts app.

At this point, you’ve taken your Android contacts from your Android phone and put them on your Windows PC. Now it’s time to put those contacts on your iPhone.

  • Open iTunes and connect your iPhone device.
  • Then click the device icon and select Info.
  • Click Synch Contacts with and Windows Contacts from the available drop-down buttons.
  • Then click Apply to synch your contacts from Windows Contacts to your iPhone device.

6. Transfer With a VCF File

You can use one last method and transfer your Android context year iPhone using a VCF file. This is ideal if your contacts aren’t in a Google account, so syncing isn’t possible. To use this method:

  • Open the Contacts app on your Android.
  • Then tap the three dots at the top right-hand corner of the screen and Share.
  • Select the contacts that you wish to transfer.
  • Then tap Share.
  • Next, pick the VCF file from the available options.
  • Pick how you want to move the VCF file to your iPhone and click Send.
  • Then open your iPhone, the VCF file, and click Add Contacts to complete the sequence.
