Mint Mobile's cell phone plans are designed for budget-conscious consumers, and cost far less than the ones sold by major carriers Verizon, AT&T, and parent company T-Mobile.
All of Mint Mobile’s plans feature unlimited talk and text, along with varying amounts of high-speed data. They can be paid for in 3, 6, and 12-month increments, with year-long commitments representing the most savings.

If saving money on your cell phone plan is your priority, Mint Mobile is a good carrier to consider. All of Mint’s plans come in at price points that the major carriers can’t match, and this plan is the cheapest of the bunch.

You don’t need to pay major carrier prices to get unlimited data. Every prepaid carrier now offers some version of an unlimited data plan—including Mint Mobile.

You may have noticed that Mint Mobile has two other capped data options—a 15GB/month plan and a 20GB/month plan. While they may sound appealing—giving you a healthy amount of data for a reasonable price—we strongly recommend skipping these in favor of unlimited data.
Mint Mobile’s Unlimited plan is only moderately more expensive than the 15GB plan ($20/month for 3 months) and the 20GB plan ($25/month for 3 months) at $30/month for 3 months. In fact, with a current promotion, the Unlimited plan is actually $5 cheaper than the 20GB plan. The best part? Signing up with Mint’s Unlimited plan means you don’t have to worry about hitting any monthly data caps.
Being owned by T-Mobile has its benefits, as Mint Mobile operates service aboard the carrier’s formidable national network. That means that Mint customers can tap into the same 4G and 5G coverage that regular T-Mobile customers use.
By the numbers, T-Mobile offers the most 5G network coverage, and pretty good 4G LTE coverage, nationally. Check out the coverage map below to see what kind of service you can expect from Mint Mobile:
One caveat: as a small carrier operating aboard a larger network, you may experience slower speeds in times of network congestion. Major carriers, T-Mobile included, tend to prioritize their own customers ahead of sub-carriers like Mint Mobile.
As a low-cost prepaid carrier, Mint Mobile doesn’t include many perks with its plans. Keeping things stripped down is one of the ways that Mint Mobile is able to offer such incredibly low prices.
That said, all of Mint Mobile cell phone plans include unlimited talk and text (including free international calling to Mexico and Canada), free mobile hotspot usage, WiFi calling, and high-speed (4G LTE and 5G) nationwide coverage on T-Mobile's network.
Mint sells all of the latest Android phones. These include the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, and the Motorola RAZR+. Likewise, the carrier is stocked with the new iPhone 16 series devices.
Alternatively, you can bring your own iPhone or Android phone to the Mint Mobile network.
Mint Mobile stands out as an excellent choice for budget-conscious users who don’t want to sacrifice quality service. With access to T-Mobile’s robust 5G and 4G LTE networks, straightforward plan structures, and pricing that undercuts the major carriers, Mint delivers exceptional value across the board. Whether you need just 5GB of data to stay connected or want the freedom of an unlimited plan, Mint offers affordable options to fit most usage needs.
Mint Mobile offers several data plans: 5GB, 15GB, 20GB, and Unlimited. All plans include unlimited talk and text, free mobile hotspot (10GB cap on Unlimited), and 5G/4G LTE access. The Unlimited plan is priced at $30/month when paid annually.
Yes, the Unlimited plan provides unlimited data without a high-speed cap. However, video streaming is limited to 480p, and hotspot usage is capped at 10GB per month.
Yes, all Mint Mobile plans support mobile hotspot usage. The Unlimited plan includes up to 10GB of hotspot data per month.
If you’re on the hunt for an inexpensive unlimited plan, Mint’s offering is worth a look. It gives you truly unlimited data—the carrier has done away with the data cap—though you may experience slower speeds during times of congestion on the T-Mobile network (more on that later). It also features a dedicated 10GB high-speed mobile hotspot data allowance that doesn’t come out of your primary cellular data.
Mint Mobile’s Unlimited plan costs $30/month when you prepay for 3 months, but goes down to just $20/month when you pay for 12 months.
The cheapest of Mint Mobile’s offerings is the carrier’s 5GB/month plan. If the name didn’t give it away, the plan offers 5GB of data to use a month, paired with unlimited talk and text. The plan includes hotspot functionality, but whatever you use comes out of your primary cellular data bucket.
Mint’s 5GB plan is ideal for users who mostly use WiFi, and don’t do a ton of browsing, streaming or gaming on their phones. It costs $15/month when you pay for a year of service in advance ($180).
