From a distance, the Motorola Edge looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S9. The curved screen wraps around the long edges and makes this phone look thinner than it actually is. For comparison, it’s roughly the size of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, though it’s a bit lighter. 

The 6.6-inch display features a resolution of 2,400 X 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate up to 144 Hz, and up to 1,200 nits of brightness. In terms of durability, the Edge stands above a lot of the competition with an IP68 rating, making it dustproof and capable of surviving in five feet of water for up to 30 minutes. 

The Edge uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7030 system and runs on the Android 13 operating system, the latest version. With an internal storage of 256GB and 8GB of RAM, this phone can provide quality service to the majority of users. The two rear camera setup boasts up to 50 MP, and the speakers are high-quality.

The battery life of the Edge leaves a little to be desired, as it typically only lasts about 9 hours or so. However, the 4,400mAh battery cell allows for 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. It only takes about 50 minutes of wired charging to completely charge a dead battery, but in 15 minutes you’ll be at around 45%. 

9. Asus ZenFone 10

Asus has made a name for itself as one of the best smartphone manufacturers in the world. The ZenFone 10 lives up to this reputation and backs quite an impressive list of features in a compact phone. The 5.9-inch AMOLED display is smaller than most options on this list, but boasts 2,400 X 1,080 pixels and a refresh rate up to 144 Hz. Similar to the Motorola Edge, the ZenFone has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The main camera features 50 MP and a 13 MP ultrawide option, and the 15W Qi wireless charging capabilities allow you to quickly and easily charge up your device. Most phones can only absorb a maximum power output of 10W, but with 15W charging compatibility, the Asus ZenFone 10 allows for faster charging. 

Inside is where you’ll find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm's previous generation of chipset. While no longer the latest and arguably greatest offering from Qualcomm, it's still capable of delivering high performance. The internal storage and RAM can vary depending on the option that you choose. The standard is 128GB of storage with 8GB of RAM, but there are also options for 256GB and 512GB of internal storage and 12GB and 16GB of RAM.

The ZenFone boasts a battery of 4,300mAh, which is smaller than some of the other newer models on this list. However, because of its compact size, this battery can go a long way. A single charge can last up to an entire day and beyond. The only downside is that it only supports 30W wired charging so it takes around an hour and a half for a full recharge. 

10. OnePlus 10 Pro

The OnePlus 10 Pro was a China exclusive for six weeks in early 2022, but it immediately became a hot commodity when it hit the US market. It’s generally considered to be the best OnePlus phone yet and matches the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in terms of functionality, but at a lower price. 

The wireless charging option is particularly noteworthy as it’s capable of 50W. Not only is this significantly higher than many other wireless charging options, it’s even higher than a few wired charging capabilities.

The 6.7-inch AMOLED display is one of the biggest on this list and features an incredible 3,216 X 1,440 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz for a magnificent display. The main camera features 50 MP with 8 MP for the ultrawide option and up to 3.3x telephoto. 

The biggest downside of this phone is that it doesn’t use the latest CPU technology. It currently operates on the Android 12 system and uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The standard internal storage is 128GB with 8GB of RAM, but you can upgrade to the OnePlus 10 Pro T for 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. 

What the OnePlus 10 Pro lacks in internal capabilities, it makes up for in battery specs. The 5,000mAh is massive and one of the largest on this list. Having such a large screen and detailed display does limit the battery, but it’s still capable of roughly 10 hours of use before charging. The good news is that it’s capable of supporting up to 80W of wired charging, meaning that it only takes about 30 minutes to go from completely dead to fully charged.
