As the largest carrier in the country, Verizon offers a range of plans—all of which become less expensive as you add lines. This makes pricy options like Unlimited Ultimate ($90/month for one line) much more within the range of affordability for most families. Plus, Verizon allows you to mix-and-match family plans, so every member of your household can be on whichever cell phone plan suits them best.
In this article, we’ll run down our list of the best Verizon family plans in 2026, including:
Read on as we get into the details of each of these Verizon family plans.
Why You Should Trust Us
I have over 10 years of experience writing about and reviewing mobile plans and phones. I’ve tried every carrier under the sun—and have some strong opinions about which ones are worth signing up for, and which you should steer clear of.
For this article, I focused on the following factors as it relates to family plan service with Verizon:
- Overall value
- Plan features
- Cell phone coverage
- Quality of customer service
The following piece offers an honest look at how well Verizon fares in each of these areas.
Here's a quick look at how Verizon's multi-line discounts work across the carrier's various unlimited plans.

Before we begin, it’s worth reiterating that Verizon gives families the ability to mix-and-match unlimited plans, so each person that has a line can have his or her own plan.
Also, Verizon has shifted its plan perks into its so-called myPlan system. This allows each member of your family to select any extras they want for their particular plan, which cost an additional $10/month (with the exception of Apple One, which costs $15/month). These include everything from extra hotspot data to streaming subscriptions. Here’s a full list of myPlan extras:

Verizon is the biggest cell phone carrier in the country, with some of the highest plan costs around. However, there are a number of benefits to going with this mega-carrier—here are a few.
Verizon wields a powerful system of 4G and 5G networks that collectively cover nearly every corner of the United States. Verizon’s 4G network is second only to AT&T in terms of its nationwide reach, while the carrier’s growing 5G network trails the likes of AT&T and T-Mobile. A good portion of Verizon’s 5G network includes its so-called 5G Ultra Wideband spectrum, which delivers lightning-fast speeds and excellent signal reliability.
Check out Verizon’s network in the map below, and use the buttons on top to switch between 4G and 5G coverage:
Verizon was the first major carrier to allow customers to choose individual plans for each line—i.e. “mix-and-match.” Verizon recently took this concept a step further, allowing each customer on a multiline plan to choose his or own set of perks as part of the myPlan system. This is something no other major carrier—or smaller carrier for that matter—offers.
What are the most popular Verizon plans?
Given how expensive Verizon's plans are, it should come as no surprise that the most popular Verizon plan is one of its least pricy—Unlimited Welcome. This is followed by the more premium tier Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Ultimate.
Here’s a percentage breakdown of which Verizon plans are the most popular, based on customer interaction with Navi’s cell phone plan tools:
Unlimited Welcome: 38.4 %
Unlimited Plus: 37.7 %
Unlimited Ultimate: 23.9 %
While some may complain about the fact that Verizon has broken out perks that used to be included with unlimited plans and made new customers pay extra for them via myPlan, the sheer scale of perks you can choose from is impressive. From international data privileges to streaming subscriptions to hotspot data, myPlan really allows Verizon customers to customize their plans with exactly what they want.
Verizon’s family plans are some of the best on the market, offering great core features and the ability to add on to them with the carrier's a la carte myPlan perks system. While the single line prices of some of the carrier's plans are enough to make you wince, adding lines to them makes things entirely more affordable. Plus they all come backed with Verizon's excellent 4G and 5G coverage, and the kind of reliable (if slightly unexceptional) customer service you'd expect from a telecom behemoth.

Yes, Verizon offers a plan where you can get 4 lines for $100 per month. This is available through their Unlimited Welcome plan, which costs $25 per line when you have four lines and enroll in Auto Pay.
Verizon's family plans allow you to have up to 10 lines on a single account. This includes phones, tablets, mobile hotspots, and other connected devices.
The best overall Verizon plan for a family of four is Unlimited Plus, since it includes some of the benefits of the expensive Unlimited Ultimate plan, at a lower cost per line.
Our favorite premium Verizon family plan is the carrier’s $80/month Unlimited Ultimate. This option comes with unlimited talk, text, and data, and access to Verizon’s fast and reliable 5G network. What really sets this plan apart, though, is its massive 200GB mobile hotspot data allowance—which is nearly enough to power your home internet!
But that's not all: Unlimited Ultimate comes with a bevy of awesome international perks, namely unlimited talk, text and 15GB of data to use each month when traveling internationally in 210+ countries. This makes the plan one of the best options on the market for those who travel abroad. Unlimited Ultimate is Verizon's third-most popular plan, with 24% of subscribers opting for it over the carrier's other options.
Unlimited Ultimate comes down in price to $65/month per line when you add three lines, or just $55/month per line when you add four. If you have a data-hungry family that does a lot of hotspotting, this is the plan for you.
Verizon’s Unlimited Plus plan is the option that will appeal to the most families, since it includes some of the benefits of the expensive Unlimited Ultimate plan, at a lower cost per line.
This includes a 30GB mobile hotspot data allowance, truly unlimited cellular data (no deprioritization or data ceilings, ever), access to Verizon’s fast 5G Ultra Wideband network coverage, unlimited talk, text, and data in Mexico and Canada, and unlimited texting to over 200 countries. All of this helps to explain why it's the second-most popular Verizon plan, with 38.4% of new subscribers opting for it over the carrier's other options.
Unlimited Plus is $70/month, but drops to $55/month per line when you add three lines, or $45/month per line when you add four lines. As with all of Verizon’s plans, if the features that are included aren’t enough for any of your family members, you can simply add more via the carrier’s myPlan system.
If you’re looking to get your whole family aboard the powerful Verizon network at a lower price, look no further than the Unlimited Welcome plan.
It's no secret that Verizon's plans are quite expensive—but this one is decidedly less so. That goes a long way to explaining why Unlimited Welcome is Verizon's most popular plan, with 38% of new subscribers signing up for it over the ones.
However, you make certain concessions for the price: Unlimited Welcome doesn't include a dedicated mobile hotspot data allowance, and the cellular data is subject to slowing anytime, i.e. deprioritization.
Unlimited Welcome is $65/month for one line, but just $40/month per line for three lines, or $30/month per line for four. If you need hotspot data for any of your lines, you can add 100GB/month of it for $10/month, which still keeps your overall costs reasonable. And, of course, like the other plans on this list, Unlimited Welcome gives you access to Verizon’s excellent 5G network.
