The cheapest T-Mobile plan, by contrast, goes for $50/month from the jump (Essentials Saver 2.0); if you want the ability to take advantage of one of the carrier's device promos, you'll need to sign up for the standard Essentials 2.0 plan, priced at $60/month.

The Xfinity Mobile and T-Mobile plans also differ when it comes to features. Xfinity Mobile's Select plan includes a 15GB high-speed mobile hotspot data allowance, enough to keep you covered if you periodically need to send some quick emails from your laptop and you’re away from a WiFi signal. T-Mobile's Essentials Saver 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 plans lack any dedicated high-speed mobile hotspot data, instead giving you unlimited hotspot data at 3G speeds, which can feel glacially slow for anything but the most basic of web tasks.

Beyond that, Xfinity Mobile’s Select plan features a healthy 50GB of premium cellular data before your speeds are subject to deprioritization. Essentials Saver 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 lack premium cellular data—all of it is subject to deprioritization at any time.

Also worth mentioning: Xfinity Mobile’s Select plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data in 215+ countries. T-Mobile’s Essentials 2.0 and Essentials Saver 2.0, meanwhile, feature unlimited talk, text, and slow 2G data in Mexico and Canada, along with unlimited texting in 210+ countries. 

Bottom line: Xfinity Mobile's Unlimited plan offers a low-cost, high-value way to join the network, and is perfect for the bargain-minded user who travels abroad frequently. T-Mobile's Essentials Saver 2.0 and Essentials 2.0 plans are a similarly low-cost way to jump aboard T-Mobile's national network, but lack the features (premium cellular data, high-speed mobile hotspot data) of Xfinity Mobile's Select plan.

Xfinity Mobile vs. T-Mobile: Mid-Priced Unlimited Plans

Looking for better features from your cell phone plan? These options from Xfinity Mobile and T-Mobile may fit the bill, as they’re designed to appeal to those who are willing to spend a few more dollars in exchange for more high-speed cellular data, mobile hotspot data, and international features.

Firstly, we should point out that, once again, mid-priced means two very different things for these two carriers. Xfinity Mobile’s Plus plan costs just $15/month for the first 12 months, and $45/month thereafter, while T-Mobile's Experience More 2.0 plan is a comparatively pricy $85/month from the start.

However, Xfinity Mobile’s Plus and T-Mobile’s Experience More 2.0 do share some similarities. Both give you unlimited premium cellular data to use each month—that is, no deprioritization, ever. Also, both offerings include generous high-speed mobile hotspot data allowances: Xfinity Mobile Plus includes 50GB, while Experience More gives you a similarly impressive 60GB. That should be more than enough for frequent usage. 

Both plans include excellent international usage perks: Xfinity Mobile’s Plus gives you unlimited talk, text, and data in 215+ countries (just like Select); T-Mobile's Experience More 2.0 plan features unlimited talk, text, and up to 15GB of 4G LTE data in Mexico and Canada, along with unlimited texting in 215+ countries and 5GB of high-speed data (then 2G) when traveling internationally.

Bottom line: this is a bit of an apple-and-oranges comparison, since Xfinity Mobile's Plus plan comes in at a much lower price ($15/month for the first year, $45/month after that) than T-Mobile's Experience More 2.0 ($85/month). Beyond that, both plans offer some key international perks, and plenty of premium cellular and high-speed mobile hotspot data. If you want more purer coverage from your carrier, T-Mobile's plan is the way to go. If you're willing to sacrifice that in the name of saving money, Plus is a great option.

Xfinity Mobile vs. T-Mobile: Premium Unlimited Plans

This is the simplest comparison on this page, because Xfinity Mobile doesn’t offer a comparable premium unlimited plan. This is simply a discussion of T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond 2.0 plan, which is one of the most feature-packed—albeit very pricy at $100/month—plans on the cell phone market. 

However, Experience Beyond 2.0 plan also packs in a lot for the price. This includes truly unlimited premium data—no deprioritization, ever—plus a massive 250GB mobile hotspot data allowance, free Netflix With Ads, and free HULU. And don't sleep on the international perks: Experience Beyond 2.0 also includes unlimited text, 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, unlimited text, and 15GB of high-speed data in 215+ countries, and free in-flight WiFi where available.

Bottom line: for the best of everything, with the purest 4G and 5G coverage, Experience Beyond 2.0 is a great choice—assuming you’re up for paying $100/month for it.

• Xfinity Mobile does not own cell tower infrastructure. Instead, it leases Verizon’s network, making it a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). T-Mobile owns all its infrastructure.
• Only Xfinity Internet customers are eligible for Xfinity Mobile plans at the advertised prices,whereas T-Mobile plans are open to everyone.
• T-Mobile offers multi-line discount pricing, so every additional line is cheaper to add. Each Xfinity Mobile line is added at a flat rate.
